Verleria O. Long, 75, Eldon, died Friday at Lake Ozark General Hospital. She was born June 2, 1918, at Iberia, a daughter of Henry and Sara Lane Pemberton. She was married July 1, 1934, to Ray Long, who survives.
A lifetime Miller County resident, she worked for the Eldon and Tipton shoe factories, and for Cargil Turkey, retiring in 1983. She was a member of aurora Springs Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one son, James Long, Pleasant Hill; one sister, Ethel Westbrook, Shawnee Mission, Kan.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Griswold-Kays Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Marvin Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Park, Barnett. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
