Arthur Baldwin Lucas, age 84, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010, in Maryville, TN. He was born in Fulton, New York, attended Purdue University and graduated from Maryville College. He was a veteran of World War II. He taught math and coached girls basketball at Lanier High School for a few years before being employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Maryville Postman for 55 years until his retirement. He was a member of 1st Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Maryville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur E. and Gretchen Lucas; sister, Janet Doucette; son-in-law, Ron Vondran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorthy Shields Long Lucas; daughters, Melinda Lucas and Gretchen Vondran; sister, Marilyn Lucas; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Ronnie Longmire officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
