Dustin John Nelson Fisher was born 6 July 1973 in Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho. He was the son of Lynette Dawn Byington and John Nelson. His parents separated shortly after his birth and his mother was married to Douglas Fisher. Dustin grew up and attended schools in Ririe, Idaho. At the age of 8 years old, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His mother and Doug divorced and later she married John C. Cowley and the family was relocated to Firth, Idaho where Dustin continued his education, graduating from Firth High School in 1991. He was active in all sports and was a state champion in wrestling. After graduation, he attended college in Powell, Wyoming for two years on a wrestling scholarship. On June 26, 1993 Dustin was riding his motorcycle near Jackson, Wyoming when he was involved in an accident with a truck and died from his injuries. He was 10 days short of his 20th birthday. Survivors included his mother, Dawn Fisher of Firth, his father, John Nelson of Idaho Falls, a half-sister, Shenean Fisher of Firth; a half-brother, Jake Fisher of Firth; grandmother's, Bessie Byington and Joan Nelson of Ririe; and his grandfather, Eldon Fisher of Ririe. Funeral services were conducted in the Ririe Second Ward L.D.S. Chapel. Burial was in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho.
