Vivian Grace Dietrich, 84, of Washington, died Friday, March 9, 2012, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington, following a six-year illness.
She was born November 19, 1927, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Howard and Catherine Engle Schlacter.
Mrs. Dietrich was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she had once been very active.
She volunteered at Washington Hospital for several years. She loved hockey, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In 1952, she married George Dietrich, who died March 25, 1997.
Surviving are three sons, Don (Janice) Dietrich of Ada, Okla., and Dave Dietrich and Bill (Vicki) Dietrich, both of Prosperity; three daughters, Cathy Giblin of Italy, Sharon Ford of Apollo and Barb (Dan) Grew of Penn Hills; a brother, Robert (Carol) Schlacter; a sister, Marie Jacobson; eight grandchildren, Dylan and Nicole Dietrich, Claire Giblin, Bethany, Brian and Jeff Ford and Matt and Danielle Grew; and a great-grandchild, Lilly.
Deceased are three brothers, Ed, Howard and Dave Schlacter; a sister, Virginia Schlacter; and a grandchild, Meghan Grew.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, with Father Michael Ruffalo officiating.
