St. Thomas, Pa. - Kenneth E. Flagle. 57, died early Saturday morning at his home after a long illness.
He was born near St. Thomas, a son of Joseph and Susan Fisher Flagle. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Ft. Loudon, Pa. and had been stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Japanese attack.
He was also a member of St. Thomas American Legion; VFW Post in Mercersburg, Pa.; Mercersburg Sports Assn; Mt. Parnell Lions Club; member and treasurer of Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn. He had been employed as an automotive and ordnance material inspector at Letterkenny Army Depot.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Shatzer Flagle; daughter, Mrs. Thomas Dittmans of Rt. 2 Chambersburg. Miss Doris Flagle, at home, Mrs. Paul Suffecool of Sumier, S.C.; one grandchild; sister, Mrs. Earl Mayhugh of Rt. 7, Chambersburg; brothers, Glenn Flagle of Rt. 6 Chambersburg. Ralph Flagle of Rt. 1 Newville Pa., William Flagle of Rt. 1 Waynesboro, Pa., Marvia and Charles Flagle, both of Rt. 2 Waynesboro; half-sister, Mrs. Mina Mawyer of Chambersburg.
Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Lin-Inger Funeral Home in Mercersburg. The Rev. James W. Herman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
The family requests the omission of flowers and memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
