Funeral services for William D. Duvall, 90 a resident of the St. Joseph's Nursing Home and formerly of Heuvelton will be held on Sunday, March 11, at 3:30 p.m. at the Fox and Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Nichols officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2- 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Duvall passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 8, at the nursing home.

Surviving are his daughters Donna Platek and her husband Randy of Pawleys Island, SC, Inda Knight and her husband Bruce of Rochester, Ellen Loscavio and her husband Anthony of Fountain Hills, AZ; a brother Cecil Duvall of Heuvelton; 8 grandchildren John, Jeff and Ryan Platek, Tracy, Jeanine and Andrew Knight, Anthony and Michael Loscavio and 8 great-grandchildren Danielle, Dominic, Delaney, Mason, Madison, Ryleigh and Raegan.

His wife Eva M. (Wilson) Duvall; a son John William Duvall, five brothers Arthur, Lester, Edward, Clarence, Albert and two sisters Lillian Wedge and Agnes Darling predeceased him.

Bill was born on November 28, 1921 in Waddington, a son of the late William J. and Emily (Edwards) Duvall. He graduated from Heuvelton Central School, and enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-1945. He then married Eva M. Duvall on October 3, 1945 at the Presbyterian Manse in Heuvelton. The couple operated a farm in the town of Lisbon from 1946-1952 and then on the Heuvelton-Ogdensburg Road from 1952-1973, when they moved to the village of Heuvelton. William then went to work for Earle Johnston Electrical, became the Oswegatchie Town Supervisor and drove bus for Heuvelton Central School until his retirement.

He was an active member of the Heuvelton Presbyterian Church where he served as trustee and Elder, the Hillcrest Cemetery Board, Oswegatchie Town Board, Heuvelton Lions Club, VFW in Ogdensburg and American Legion in Heuvelton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the St. Joseph's Nursing Home staff, for the care and kindness that they gave to their father during his stay at the nursing home.
