Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, August 29, 1947, she was preceded in death by her parents, Johnson and Lettie Duncan; sister, Francis Phillips; brothers, Dillard and Kelsie Duncan; nephews and niece, Harold Phillips, Brandon Slaven, and Patty Wilkerson; mother- and father-in-law, Mable and Andy Slaven; and brothers- in-law: Barry, Roy, Johnny, Charles, and Clifford Slaven. She was a member of Paint Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Hershel Slaven; sons: Tony Slaven and wife, Leslie, and Wayne Slaven and wife, Sandy; three grandchildren, brother, Estel Duncan and wife, Nancy; brother-in-law, Robert Slaven and wife, Suzie; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was to have been conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Barnes and Bro. Rick Slaven officiating.
