SUNNYSIDE Harry Benson 78 of Sunnyside died Wednesday in Sunnyside Community Hospital. Mr. Benson was born Aug. 9, 1907 in Tuolumne, California. At an early age, he moved with his parents to Seattle where he received his early education. His family later moved to Benton City, where he graduated from high school. He graduated from Bellingham Normal School and from the College of Puget
Sound. Mr. Benson taught school in Chehalis Jr. High, he was principal of Morton Elementary School, principal of Boiseford High School in Lewis County and superintendent of River View School District in Benton County. On May 25 he married Rubie Crain in Goldendale. In 1945 the couple moved to Sunnyside, where he owned and operated Lincoln Service for 11 years. In 1957 he became a counselor at Sunnyside High School. He was principal at the high school until 1966 and vocational director until he retired in 1972. He lived in Sunnyside until the time of his death.
