Norman M. Gibbs, 61, of 457 Hillcrest Road, died unexpectedly at 12:45 p.m. yesterday at the Grantley plant of York division, Borg-Warner corporation, where he had been employed for 42 years. Dr. Thomas J. Farley, deputy coroner, attributed death to an acute coronary occlusion.

Mr. Gibbs, a warehouse supervisor, was a member of the plant's 40-year club, Foremen's club of York and York Lodge 148, Loyal Order of Moose.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Luther Fackler, with whom he resided. His wife, Mrs. Virginia Smith Gibbs, died in 1954.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Geiple Funeral home, Glen Rock. Interment will take place in Mt. Rose cemetery.
