Died Mrs. Minnie Webb Beard, 28 Jul - age 39 - Kidney trouble - began after birth of last child 7 years ago & before the disappearance of husband Dock Beard & whose whereabout[sic], if living is not known until this day. Survived by two boys, namely Hunter, aged 11, and Bernie, aged 9, and the baby girl, Mary Alice, aged about 7 years. The later is being raised by its grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pres Beard of the upper east side, while the older boy has of late been making Poley Beard's his home, and the other with her at her father's home here. Besides her father, Mr. J. D. Webb of this city, she is survived by one brother, Leslie Webb. Her only sister, Miss Hunter Webb, died several years ago just as she was blooming into young womanhood and was buried besides the old Methodist Church in Leakesville, and the remains of this good lady, whose life was so full of sorrows and suffering, is being laid by her side on the same burial plot.
