Angela (Pfeifer) Mailander Blacklock 90, of Greeley, NE died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Greeley Care Home in Greeley, NE. Angela was born on March 5, 1922 to John R. and Cecilia A. (Glaser) Pfeifer on the family farm north of Spalding, NE.
Angela was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Spalding. She attended country school through the 8th grade. In 1975 she received her G.E.D. from Southeast Community College.
On June 28, 1948 Angela was united in marriage to Eugene F. "Gene" Mailander. They lived on a farm north of Spalding. Eugene died July 2, 1969. On January 28, 1975 Angela married Robert "Bob" W. Blacklock. They lived on a farm in O'Connor, later moving to the town of Greeley. Bob died June 19, 1999. In 2008 Angela moved to Greeley Care Home.
Angela worked over the years at St. John's Hospital in Spalding and later the Spalding Care Home and Greeley Care Home as a Med-Aide.
Angela was a member of St. Michael's Parish of Spalding and Sacred Heart Parish of Greeley, St. Anne's Altar Society and Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters.
Surviving Angela are: children: Terry Mailander and wife Mary Lee of Spalding, NE; Mark Mailander and wife Mary Sue of Rapid City, SD; Janet Fletcher and husband Greg of Grove, OK; Step-children Robert Blacklock and wife Kunhild of Sierra Vista, AZ, Ronald Blacklock and wife Shirley of North Platte, NE, Marie Ryan and Jim Pritchard of Wolbach, NE and Mary Lou Navratil and Ken Poss of Greeley, NE; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann Esch of Spalding, NE.
Angela was preceded in death by: parents, husbands Eugene F. "Gene" Mailander and Robert William "Bob" Blacklock, brother Donald Pfeifer and sisters, Pauline Neis and Marie Flanagan.
Interment was in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Spalding, NE.
