Elizabeth Elvira (Betty) Hahne, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully with family at her side on February 3, 2012, at the age of 75.
She was born in Luckenbach, Texas on July 22, 1936, raised on her family farm and later made her home in the city of San Antonio. She was married on June 1, 1957 to Homer Franklin Hahne in Fredericksburg.
Before her illness, she loved to cook, and devoted her life to her husband and family.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bertha Jenschke, brothers James Jenschke and
Marcus Jenschke , and nieces Deborah Jenschke Dietrich and Terese Jenschke age 5.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Homer, her daughters Dianne Pizzini (husband John), Cheryl Frail (husband David), Corinne Havens, (husband Ken), son Stephen Hahne (wife Lisa), grandchildren Dylan, Karenna Elizabeth, Joshua, Connor, Bradley, step grandchildren Matthew, Michael, and step great-grandchild Alex.
She is also survived by her brother & spouse, Ignatz & Norma Gene Jenschke and her sister & spouse, Mary Lou & Dayton Kuhlmann, sisters in law, Erlene Jenschke, Frances Baethge, Doris Petsch and Waldene & spouse Calvin Beckmann.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Mom's special friend and caregiver, Martha Camarillo, and also the Odyssey Hospice Staff, especially Heidi, Gabby, Darlene, and to Dr. David Marks for all the loving care they each gave Mom through the final days of her illness.
A prayer service was held Thursday, February 9th, at 6:00PM in the chapel of the Schaetter's Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 10th, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, at 610 Avalon St. in San Antonio, with Pastor Richard Kidd officiating.
Graveside services and Interment followed at Mission Burial Park North in San Antonio.
Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Odyssey Hospice, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, or to the charity of their choice.
