FREEMAN , ROBERT WILEY, 80, who passed away on March 29, 2004, was born September 15, 1923 in Montrose, Colorado, son of George and Mabel, a descendant of a pioneer family to western Colorado.
Robert served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific on the U.S.S. Octans.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Class of '50 with a degree in Business Administration, he worked for International Harvester farm equipment for 28 years throughout the Midwest and Texas, and for International dealerships in Arizona until his retirement.
Robert loved to golf and was active in his church as a Presbyterian elder. Moving to Dallas in 2003 from Sun City West, Arizona, Robert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda Jean; their 4 children, Kirk and his wife Caroline and their children Joshua and Lindsay; Jody and her husband Mike Adams and their children Rachel and Lauren; Todd, a Presbyterian pastor; and Scott and his wife Dana and their children Terin and Chandler; and Robert 's sister, Bernice Powell of Dallas.
Robert struggled with a prolonged illness due to melanoma cancer.
Services will be held in the chapel of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas on Thursday, April 1, at 2 p.m. Reception following at Presbyterian Village North at 4 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
