Michael P. Becchelli, 77, of South Liberty Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:23 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct. 3, 1922, in Toluca, Ill., and lived in this area most of his life. Mr. Becchelli retired in 1980 from the Uniroyal Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Christina Becchelli; a brother, Tony; and by two sisters, Mary Jane Benbow and Theresa Milliken.

On May 3, 1947, in South Bend, he married Regina Andrysiak, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Joseph (Mary) Becchelli of Phoenixville, Pa.; and by a grandson, Michael Becchelli.

Mr. Becchelli was an Army veteran of World War II, and participated in three major campaigns. He received three battle stars for his actions.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
