Obituary: Robert Milton Earp was born October 31st, 1857 and passed away, December 10th, 1925 at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 10 days. He was born at Galesburg, Iowa. On March 25th, 1888, he was united in marriage to Lucy Cooper, at Newton, Iowa. Mr. Earp was one of eight children, two brothers and five sisters. His parents and two sisters have gone before. Those who survive are Thomas, of Galesburg, Iowa; John, near Sydney, Utah; Nancy Clark, near Newton, Iowa; Evelyn Talbot, at Crawford, Iowa; and Nellie Thorpe living at Reasoner,Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Earp cme to Greenwood, Nebr. in 1888, where they resided for one year, they then came to Dorchester, where they have resided until his death, December 10, 1925. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Earp united with the Methodist church at Dorchester in 1903, and has been a faithful member ever since. His death was a great shock to the community, he being at his place of business for the Beatrice Creamery Company, and passed away at his desk, while writing. He was a faithful and devoted husband (Crete News, Crete, Nebraska, 17 Dec 1925). Funeral was held at the M.E. church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C.G. Ellis, the A.F.& A.M. Lodge having charge at the cemetery. Relatives attending the funeral Mrs. C.C. Cooper and her daughter Mrs. Elmer Adams and her husband of Eagle, Mr. and Mrs. Tarley Hohman and daughter Mamie, of Lincoln (The Dorchester Star, Dorchester, Nebraska, p. 2, 17 Dec 1925).
