Emporia Gazette, The | Emporia, Kansas/Thursday, September 27, 1945 | Page 1//Mrs. Laura Housley Dies:Mrs. Laura Housley, 102 Sylran, who was injured at the Santa Fe crossing on Exchange street Wednesday, died this morning at 12:30 o'clock at the Newman Memorial County hospital. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
Mrs. Housley, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Shuck,was born March 17, 1864, in Iowa. She married the late Robert Housley there. In 1890, she came to Lyons, Kan., and in 1895 to Emporia.
She was a member of the First Christian church. Mr. Housley died in Emporia In 1834.
Mrs. Housley is survived by two sons: Clarence Housley, 117 East; Orville Housley, 12 Sylvan; two daughters: Mrs. W. E. Yearout, Wapata, Wash.; Mrs. F. F. Lapham, San Bernardino, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ella Fees, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grand daughters; six grandsons; and seven great grandchildren.

The Rev. Oscar T. Moline, pastor of the First Christian church, was in charge. Miss Hester Moore sang, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn A. Blue.
Pallbearers were Lewis Eastwood, W. R. Eastwood, Emmitt Gibson, Earl Parker, James Montgomery, Arthur Hiatt.
Burial was in Maplewood cemetery. Out-of-town relatives and friends at the services were: Mrs. F. F. Lapham, San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. W. E. Yearout, Wapato, Wash.; and Mrs. Warren Housley, Hollywood, Calif.
