Frank was born July 4, 1919 to
Ernest Charles Spooner and Florence
Viola Petty at Alta and moved to Storm
Lake as a child. He attended rural schools
in the Alta and Storm Lake area. Growing
up he was a mascot for the Storm Lake
Fire Department. Frank was in the Civilian
Conservation Corps established by
President Roosevelt. He enlisted in WWII
Army stationed in Africa. He was a general
laborer in construction.
On Nov. 24, 1963 Frank married
Hulda Heller at the Church of Christ in
Storm Lake. After their marriage the couple
lived in Storm Lake. Frank retired
from the Storm Lake Street Department in
1973.
He was a member of the Church of
Christ in Alta. He was an avid fisherman,
gardener and bowler. Frank entered
Buena Vista Manor in February of 1998.
His wife Hulda passed away on March
16, 1999.
He is survived by four step-sons:
Roger and wife Velda Heller of Waverly,
Ronnie and wife Pat Heller of Newhall,
Michael and wife Olga Heller of Florida
and Mervin Heller of Ft. Worth, Tx.; one
step-daughter, Karole and husband
Michael Meese of Marion; one brother,
Edward G. and wife Marilyn Spooner of
Aurelia; three sisters, Dorothy Schroeder
of Charles City, Mavis Hoch of Storm
Lake and Phyllis and husband Jack
Toiberg of Laurens; 10 grandchildren and
13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
his wife, Hulda; two brothers, Floyd
R. and Kenneth Spooner; and two sisters,
Bernadette Guynn and Sylvia I. Nielsen.

When taking picture I noticed someone moved the tag. The 1999 should be on Franks side.
