Sybil was raised by her foster mother Lovina Goodrich until Sybil married at age 21 to Frederick Holloway on February 5, 1837 in Nottawa, St. Joseph County, Michigan. They spent their first year of married life in Sylvania, Ohio, and the second and third in Tecumseh, Hillsdale County, Michigan where their eldest child was born. In April, 1840, they moved to Jonesville, Michigan and in 1852 they moved to a farm in Fayette Township. They were the parents of three boys: George Allen, Leroy Frederick, Cyrus Clement and a girl, Ella who married H.E. Reed.
