Mr. Spooner died October 20th, 1985 at the Hospital in Boone, Iowa.
Floyd Rene Spooner was born August 28th, 1912 to Ernest Spooner and Florence (Petty) Spooner. He grew up in Storm Lake and graduated from high school in 1931.
On December 29, 1932, he was married to Helen Marie Matson. They were parents of seven children. He was employed for 25 years as a track inspector on the Illinois Central Railroad.
Preceeding him in death were his parents and one daughter, Ruth (Spooner) Hunt.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Janis Teague of Manhattan, Kansas, Connie Lamp of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Vicki Abbott of Tujunga, California. Three sons, Delmar Spooner of Canyon City, Colorado, Gary Spooner of Mesa, Arizona, and Richard Spooner of Souix Rapids, Iowa. Mr. Spooner has 19 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Five sisters, Burnadette Guynn, Dorothy Schroeder, Sylvia Nielson, Mavis Hoch and Phyllis Toiberg and 2 brothers Frank Spooner of Storm Lake and Edward Spooner of Alta.
