Her real name was Angel Mignanelli, a life-long New Yorker whose show-business career as a ventriloquist was launched on Connie Francis' "Star Time" talent show. Mignanelli, who performed under the stage name Angela Martin, was a singer who performed with stars including Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. She made appearances on "The Jackie Gleason Show," "The Milton Berle Show" and had a part in the 1982 movie "Annie." She lived in Astoria, Queens, New York and was also was a piano teacher.
