He was born May 19, 1928, at Valley Head, a son of the late Lawrence and Carrie Susan McCloud Arbogast.
On Feb. 26, 1949, he married Vivian Zirkle, who survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mary Lucile Koon of Buckhannon, Patricia Ann Arbogast of Sandy Level, Va., Diane May Daugherty and husband, John, of Mt. Union, Jonna Jean Higgins and husband, Terry, of French Creek and Linda Lee Watson of Washington, N.C.; two sons, Rick Arbogast and wife, Rose, of Mt. Union and and Alfred William "Bill" Arbogast and wife, Lisa, of Mt. Union; f14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virgie Wilfong of Valley Head, Bertha Hewitt and Janet Gregory, both of Buckhannon and Mata Ash of Missouri; three brothers, Lloyd Arbogast of Buckhannon, Ralph Arbogast of Ohio, and Don Arbogast of Kansas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Arbogast was a coal miner; he worked in the woods and was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received Friday, March 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
