Luther Doyle Gammage, long time residend of Wichita Falls, passed away March 3, 2002.
Funeral services conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, in the sanctuary of Lamar Baptist Church, with Terry Bowman, pastor, officiating. Internment followed at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
He was born June 30, 1917, in Anderson County, Texas to Albert Nathaniel and Eddie Alna(Campbell) Gammage. He was a U.S. Navy Machinist Mate 2nd Class in World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He was a Master Mason of 50 years and was a long standing Deacon at Lamar Baptist Church. He had various careers including a decade of delivering for Wichita Cigar and Tobacco and a couple of decades in the Civilian Engineering Group at Sheppard Air Force Base(he retired in 1979)
Survivors Helen Pearl(Cone) Gammage; three sons, Michael Doyle, Patrick Odell, Robert Lewis Gammage; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters.
