David A Hale is the son of Warner Hale (1818-1904) and Mary (Cox) Hale (1822-1904) who are buried Union Cemetery, Battle Creek, Madison County, Nebraska, Plot: Block: 5; Lot: 2.
His wife, Hattie Amelia (Johnson) Hale is buried with her family, in Brittin Cem "Old Elkhorn Cem" in Elkhorn, Douglas Co., Plot: Row VI S to N. David is buried here; as he preceeded her by aproximately 30 years. There is a REEVES connection, see Charles Reeves, 1870 census below. They were stockmen one of the three popular occupations being involved in farming, raising timber, or working on the railroad. There is a town in Madison county named for another with this family connection, that being EMERICK.
Per his mother's picture on her FAG site his siblings were Felden J., [David b 1843], Rosamond, John, Jackson, Troy, Everett, Charles, Elizabeth, Flora, Thomas E., and Mollie, all born in Grayson County [Virginia].

His daughter Cora E. may have died after 1885 & before 1928, as she is not listed in her mother's obituary as a survivor.
Two more children born, and three are mentioned in his wife's 1928 obituary: She is survived by 3 daughters, Frances(1886) Fulsom Hale - Mrs. John J. Harden; Frankie(1887) - Mrs William Ellsworth Harvey, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Lugene Hale(1873) - Mrs. P E McKillip of Chicago.
