Ralph Collett
PACKWOOD --- Ralph E. Collett, 70, of rural Packwood died at 3:20 a.m. July 2, 1992, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
He was born July 13, 1921, in Eddyville to John and Elizabeth Groenenwoud Collett. He married Lula Bell Smith on May 11, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo.
He was a farmer and lived in the Packwood area most of his life. He was a member of the Peoples Church and was a church trustee.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, James Lee of Packwood and John Earl of Muskegon, Mich.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Jackson of Norwalk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; and three brothers, Clarence, Floyd and Orville.
The service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Peoples church north of Batavia, the Rev. Jack Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Competine Cemetery near Farson.
Visitation is open. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Peoples Church or American Heart Association.
