He was the son of Jakob Elias Willumsen I (1853-1928) and Anna Elisabeth Olesdatter (1855-1909).

Jacob and his family emigrated to the United States in June of 1898.

In the early 1900's he attended the University of Minnesota and became a buttermaker. He was later employed by the Great Northern Railroad from 1912 to 1948, first as a telegrapher and later as a depot agent. He married Doris Wilkens in 1918. Ole died on June 19, 1948. He was interred at Immanuel Cemetery, Hendrum, Norman County, Minnesota."
