Murderer. Laurie was mentally disturbed for some time before she stormed into a elementary school in Chicago's North Shore section and randomly shot six children. Before the shooting she was described as "unstable." On the day of the shooting, she had dosed food samples with arsenic, and then she left them at the doorsteps of homes where she had once worked as a babysitter. Then she drove on to the Ravinia Elementary School and tried to set fire to the building with a bag filled with inflammatory liquid. After a while she went to the Hubbard Woods Elementary School, and began firing at students, shooting five of them. One of her victims was Nicholas Corwin, who later died of his wounds. She fled, driving to the home of Ruth Ann Andrew. She told them that she had been raped and could she use the phone to call her mother. Philip Andrew the 20 year old son tried to help Laurie, but she refused. She shot and wounded him, than ran upstairs. Soon after the police arrived and, after hearing a shot, found Laurie Dann dead. She had killed herself. Two books have been published about Laurie, and a TV movie was made as well.
