HEART ATTACK IS FATAL TO FORMER AKRON RESIDENT

Rites Held Last Week In Los Angeles For Stanley S. Burrill

Local relatives and friends of his boyhood here were grieved to learn of the death of Stanley S. Burrill, of Los Angeles, Calif., who was born in Akron in 1903 (Note: Stone says 1902), the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley W. Burrill, early day residents here.

Stanley attended the local public school, and, after graduation from Akron High School, enrolled as a student at the University of Iowa and graduated from the University Law School in 1926, earning one of its highest honors, the Order of the Coif. He then entered upon the practice of law in California. Preceding him in death, besides his parents, was a brother Lowell L. Burrill and his wife were in San Diego, Calif., where he had gone on business.

The following obituary notice from the Los Angeles Times was sent by Ralph Stinton, uncle of the deceased, to his cousins here, H.E. Bradley and Lewis Bly.

Funeral services for Atty. Stanley S. Burrill, 54, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Church of the Recessional at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. He died suddenly of a heart attack in San Diego Saturday.

Mr. Burrill was a member of the Los Angeles law firm of Hill, Farrer & Burrill. A native of Iowa, he was graduated from the State University of Iowa in 1924 and from the State University of Iowa Law School in 1926.

He was admitted to the California Bar in 1927 and practiced throughout his career with the same Los Angeles firm.

His home was in the Park La Brea Towers, 6007 W. 6th St.
