Funeral services for Sterling Aldridge, age 71, were Tuesday, November 21 at 2 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints with Macy & Son in charge of arrangements. Entombment was at the Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. Aldridge died November 17 at a McMinnville hospital.
He was born February 26, 1901, at Cardston, Alberta, Canada, the son of William and Anna Rolph Aldridge. He was raised and schooled in Canada, moving to Yakima, Washington in 1923. He was married to Lucille Bagley on January 23, 1925 in Yakima. They moved to Oakland, Calif. where they resided until moving to Portland in 1937 and then to Amity in 1938. Mr. Aldridge and Glen Watts operated an auto agency there until Mr. Watts died in 1963, and Mr. Aldridge retired in 1964. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two sons, Elwin L. Aldridge of Port Angeles and Gary L. Aldridge of Washington, D.C.; a daughter Mrs. Charlene Swanson of Salem; a brother, Jack Aldridge of Marysville, B.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hudson of Edmonton, Alberta and Mrs. Alta Jarvis of McMinnville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
