Paternal grandparents: Lee Palmer born July 17, 1797 in Richfield, Stanly Co., NC and Lucy Ora Stone. Married 1815 in NC; divorced 1829 in Carroll Co., TN.

Maternal grandparents: William C. Terry born abt. 1795 and Malinda Covington born abt. 1805.

Married Elizabeth Belle "Betty" Barr on September 9, 1869 in Mississippi. The couple had 11 children: Walter Sprague, Thomas Cole, Sion Eugene "Gene", Eulela "Lela" Jane, Jefferson Allen, Robert Ira, George Luther, Blanche Julia, Ora Stone, Auby Ershail, Vickie Belle.

Was a farmer in Mississippi, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Moved from Mississippi to Bell County, Texas soon after his marriage and to Mills County, Texas in 1878. Attracted by the opening of new land in Oklahoma Territory the family settled at Elmer in 1900.
