He was responsible for the discovery of the Big Bang theory of the expanding universe and the Hubble Constant. Hubble was instrumental in the design of the Hale Telescope which was set up at Mount Palomar Observatory and was given the honor in being the first to use it. The Hubble space telescope was named after him in his honor, as was Asteroid 2069 Hubble and the Hubble Crater on the Moon. (bio by: John Baumer)
