Eula Mae Sandiford, age 84, of Hazlehurst died Friday, February 24, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Sandiford was born March 28, 1927 in Jeff Davis County to the late Carl Hand Sr. and the late Naomi Carter Hand. She was a member of First Alliance Church, was a telephone operator for Southern Bell and member of the Bell South Pioneers Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. "Tommy" Thompson, husband, Raymond "Sandy" Sandiford; son, Guy Hall; daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Hall Martinez; sisters, Carldine H. Dick, Billie Deason, Betty Powell; brother, Bobby Joe Hand.
Survivors include her Daughters, Susie H. Harvey of West Palm Fla. and Lynn Thompson of Decatur; Son, Mike Thompson of Ellijay; Sisters, Yvonne (Bob) Dyer and Elizabeth Crystal of Pensacola, Fla. and Brenda Hughes of Hazlehurst; Brothers, Raymond Hand and Carl Hand, Jr. of Tycsan Arizona; Four Grandchildren, Five Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8PM at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 26th at 2:00PM at First Alliance Church with Rev. J. Barry Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery. Mrs. Sandiford will lie in state at the Church one hour prior to service time.
