George W. Ganoe born about 1833; died July 28, 1890, the son of John Ganoe and Sarah Clovis Ganoe.

George W. Ganoe was a soldier in the Civil War. He enrolled on March 31, 1864 in Uniontown, Pa. and was mustered into service on April 1, 1864 in Pittsburgh, Pa., as a Private and served with Company K, 116th Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, Fayette County, Pa. Promoted to Corporal on June 2, 1865 and mustered out with the company on July 14, 1865 A copy of his Civil War Card shows him to be 35 years old at the time of enrollment. He is described as being 5'8", dark hair and brown eyes.
