8/31/1890 RATHMAN, GEORGE COOPER, ETTIE ~ Washington County Deed Book 4, Page 456

Details surrounding Ettie are a bit confusing to me. Maiden name Cooper is entered into the Washington county deed books as being wed to George Rathmann in 1890.

The Vig files mentions Ettie, who married George Rathmann, and Addie, who married William Payne as being a daughter or daughters of John James Cooper*. To quote Mr Cooper's obit: "He had an only daughter by a first marriage, who married Wm. Payne, now of Omaha, and died shortly after the birth of a son, Leslie, who was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dick and raised by them."

Leslie, 114022551, was born in 1883. As such, his year of birth does not coincide with the year of death of Ettie when compared to the above-mentioned obituary information, because Ettie died in 1893.

There is an Addie C. Payne, 73050015, with no birth or death dates entered in Find, and with a plot designation of 0, 0 located in Forest Lawn in Omaha. But it should be noted that the 0, 0 designation means that the remains were cremated and not necessarily that they were also interred at Forest Lawn. Note that the middle initial of "C" would be consistent with a maiden name of Cooper.

The Addie above seems to be the daughter of John James Cooper. Although no birth or death dates are entered for her on her memorial, she is surname Payne (matching her father's obit), her initial "C" could stand for maiden name Cooper, and Ettie passed a full 10 years after the birth of Leslie.

However, census records for John James Cooper indicate a daughter named Ettie.

NOTE: Further examination of Vig files shows Ettie as having married William Payne (no birth or death details included) and Addie having married George Rathmann and passing away on Oct 10, 1893 (Ettie passed on October 7, 1893).
