Mrs. James H. Walker
Mrs. James H. Walker, for many years a prominent resident of La Habra, passed away Friday at her home, 436 N. Citrus avenue, Los Angeles, from a heart attack. Mrs. Walker came to La Habra about 1914 with her husband, James H. Walker, who came here to establish the First Bank of La Habra, later the First National Bank and still later the Bank of America. She was for years actively associated with the social and club life of the community, and had a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Besides her husband she leaves a son, Price, now a technical, sergeant stationed at Camp Roberts, and a daughter, Susan, who resides at home and is a teacher in the San Fernando schools. Six brothers include Henry and Chas. Price of La Habra, Jay Price of Los Angeles, Stewart Price, for, years a business man in Shanghai, China, and who after a period of internment came back to the United States on the Grispholm, and Judge P. R. Price of El Paso, Texas. All were present at the last rites. Funeral services were held Monday at the Wee Kirk o' the Heather. at Forest Lawn cemetery, where interment was made. The services were conducted by Rev. Graham C. Hunter, pastor of the Fullerton Presbyterian church, of which Mrs. Walker was a member for a long term of years. Attending from La Habra were Mr. and Mrs. F. E Chase, Walter Lewis, Miss Ethel Linsdell, Mrs. Edna Wolfe, Mrs Burt Hampton, Mrs. Gus Lindauer and Mrs. R. B. Warne.
