Mrs. Shipp was the wife of Clarence Raymond Shipp. Mr. and Mrs. Shipp were married January 26, 1937, in Los Angeles. Mr. Shipp survived his wife, passing away in 1994. Mrs. Shipp was the youngest daughter of Dr. Howard Demarest and Mrs. Katherine Ingleby Shipp.

Graveside services for Gertrude I. Shipp, 53, who died Tuesday at her home, 6325 N. Figueroa St., was conducted by Utter-McKinley's Highland Park Mortuary on Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Interment followed there. Rev. Russell Hafner officiated.

Mrs. Shipp was born in Chihuahu[sic], Mexico, and lived in Los Angeles 38 years. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Shipp; daughter, Martha; son, Thomas, both at home; father, Dr. Howard Eaton of Highland Park; two sisters, Catherine Hickman of Highland Park and Marian Chubbic of El Centro.
