"Maysville residents were shocked Tuesday morning when it was learned that Claude M. Quigley, Sr., had passed away about 9:30 o'clock Monday night. He was employed as auditor for the Monasco Hydraulic Jack Company and was on his way home from work when he suffered a heart attack and passed away in his automobile. Mr. Quigley was a comparatively young man, about fifty-three years old.

Mr. and Mrs. Quigley and their two sons, Claude M. Quigley, Jr., and James, came to Mayville in 1932 or 1933 and opened up a restaurant here which they operated until January 1945, when they sold their restaurant to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scanlan of St Joseph. They remained here for several weeks before going to Hollywood, California to make their home.

Mr. Quigley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Quigley of the home; two sons, Claude M. Quigley, Jr., of Houston, Texas, and James Quigley of Maysville; one sister, Mrs. Lasses White of Beverly Hills, California; and two brothers living in California.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon in California and burial will be there." DeKalb County Herald (Maysville, Missouri), October 24, 1946
