PASADENA, March 29.—Officers of Pasadena Post 13, American Legion, today conducted funeral services for William Jay (Bill) Ortman, 53, in a funeral chapel crowded with more than 200 persons who ranged from newsboys to city officials. Ortman, who was a popular Pasadena restaurant proprietor for the last 12 years, died in Huntington Memorial Hospital last Friday after a long illness. Among those who made his cafe here their rendezvous were artists, cartoonists, newspaper-men and musicians. He leaves his widow Margaret and a son, William A., now in military 'service.
