Dr. Ketcherside was instrumental in founding Blue Cross - Blue Shield here and served as the state medical director for Agricultural Workers' Health.
Born in Georgia, he came to Arizona when he was a boy. In 1929, Dr. Ketcherside moved to Phoenix, where he set up private practice.
Thirty years later he retired from private practice and moved to Los Angeles, where he conducted research for the Veteran's Administration.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Jean Nute and Betty Lou Haldiman; a brother; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be held in Los Angeles, according to A. L. Moore & Sons Mortuary.
