M. Owen Kellison, retired Christian church minister, died at the age of 98 at the California Christian Home in Rosemead, California, on September 14, 1986. He was Minister Emeritus of Wilshire Christian Church in Los Angeles, California and former Provost of Chapman College, Orange, California, which awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 1948.

Kellison was born in Miller County, Missouri, on October 30, 1887. He married Clara B. Thompson, also of Miller County, on December 11, 1911. They graduated from Iberia Academy, Iberia, Missouri, and taught school for several years before attending Drury College, Springfield, Missouri, where Owen Kellison earned his A.B. Degree. He later earned his B.D. Degree at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.

Kellison completed over 60 years as a minister and over 70 years of married life before Clara died in May 1982. He is survived by twin daughters, Betty Lee Huizing, Redondo Beach, California, and Katy Lou Neal, East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Kellison was pastor to churches in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and California. He was Executive Director of Evangelism for all Christian Churches in the nation in the 1940's.

If desired donations may be made to the Kellison Memorial Scholarship at Chapman College, Orange, California 92666, or to California Christian Home, 8417 East Mission Drive, Rosemead, California 91770.

(According to the California Death Index his mother's maiden name was Brazier, so it seems as if his father's wife Bertie Belk Kellison was not his mother - in addition she would have been quite young at the time of his birth)
