| Birth: | Mar. 23, 1875 | | Death: | Mar. 11, 1900 |  2nd Boer War Victoria Cross Recipient. He served as a Lieutenant in the Essex Regiment, British Army. At the Battle of Paardeberg, South Africa, February 15, 1900, Lieutenant Parsons went to the aid of a wounded comrade twice under heavy fire and subsequently carried him to a place of safety. Lieutenant Parsons was later killed in another action on which occasion he again displayed conspicuous gallantry. He was posthumously awarded the posthumous in November 1900.
