W.J. Hendrickson, Jr. was the son of Warren James Hendrickson and Laura E. Guilder Walsh. His father died in 1904. Warren and his mother moved to Syracuse, NY when his mother remarried. His step-father, John J. Walsh, and mother had one child, Mary Ruth Walsh. The family relocated to California sometime before 1920.
In 1923 he married Helen Maud Stevens in California. They had one child, a son, Warren James Hendrickson III. That marriage ended in divorce and he married secondly, Marile Clibourn, about 1928.
He died in Los Angeles at the age of 46. He was survived by his wife, son and mother and step-sister.
