SIERRA MADRE, Calif., Jan 18 (UP) — Lawrence R Goshorn, who at 19 on the Pittsburgh Post was the youngest metropolitcan city editor in America, died here yesterday after 53 years in the newspaper business. He was 70.

Goshorn retired from political leadership in newspaper work in 1930 and published the weekly Sierra Madre News until ill health forced him to sell the paper a year ago.
