William H. Gestring, 73, father of Marjorie Gestring Bowman, the 1936 Olympic Games 3-meter diving champion, died Saturday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Little Church of the Flowers under the direction of Forest Lawn Mortuary. Mr. Gestring died at his home, 7830 S Hobart blvd., where he conducted a real estate brokerage. Besides his daughter he leaves his widow Beda, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for William H. Gestring, 73, 7830 South Hobart boulevard, were conducted at the Little Church of the Flowers with Forest Lawn mortuary in charge of arrangements. Interment took place at Forest Lawn Memorial park. Formerly an official of the Southwest branch, Los Angeles Realty board, Gestring had owned and operated the Gestring Realty for 27 years until his retirement in 1949. Gestring, who was born in Wilbur, Nebraska, had been a local resident for 35 years. He was the father of Marjorie Gestring Bowman, 1936 Olympic games 3-meter diving champion. In addition to his daughter, Gestring is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beda Gestring; three sisters, four brothers, and two grandchildren.
