Ferguson, Eva Eleanor (Dickover) (1886-1980)

Born, Morrisonville, Illinois. Died San Diego, California.

Parents: John Jacob and Anna A. (Meek) Dickover. Father Dentist.

Husband: Aleck Leroy Ferguson, Married 21 August, 1912.

1908 Graduate of Stanford University.

1910 Census Santa Barbara, California. She: English teacher, public school.

At the time of Mr. Ferguson's residence in Santa Barbara, Miss Dickover also taught in the local high school, having charge of the department of drawing and art.She graduated from the Santa Barbara high school in '03, and from Stanford with the class of '08.

Eva Ferguson To Exhibit Paintings.
The Glendale office of Mutual Savings, Pasadena will be the focal point of an exhibition of paintings by Eva D. Ferguson during the month of December. Mrs. Ferguson is a member of the Pasadena Society of Artists, Women Painters of the West and Glendale Art Association.

She has exhibited all over Southern California in group shows and has held five one-woman shows in Pasadena, San Gabriel, Long Beach and Glendale. She has recently won the Sweepstakes Award of the Glendale Art Association Annual Exhibition, and has a picture hanging at the Los Angles, City Hall.

Born in Illinois on March 22, 1886. Ferguson was a resident of Pasadena in the 1920s through 1940s and Glendale in the 1950s and 1960s Her work includes landscapes in watercolor and oil. She died in La Jolla, CA on Nov. 1, 1980.

Exh: Women Painters of the West, 1950; Tuesday Afternoon Club (Glendale), 1954; San Gabriel Womens Club, 1961; Glendale AA, 1963 (1st prize).
