Frank Belz, 74, retired president of the Pfister & Vogel Tanning Co., died unexpectedly Sunday at his home in West Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Belz observed his 50th anniversary with the tanning company June 6, 1946. Early in 1947 he was elected its president. He retired in 1949 and moved to West Los Angeles.

Mr. Belz started with Pfister & Vogel in the sales department. He represented the firm in Chicago for 30 years, moving to Milwaukee in 1931. Here he was vice-president in charge of sales from 1931 until he was named president.

Mr. Belz was born in Milwaukee. His home here was at 1006 E. State st. He belonged to the Masonic order in Chicago. He traveled a great deal on company business, and after his retirement he also traveled. He was in South America last summer.

Surviving Mr. Belz are his wife, Selma, and two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Studley and Mrs. Viola Huckins, all of West Los Angeles.

Services will be held in Forest Lawn cemetery at Los Angeles Wednesday.
