EX-RESIDENT DIES IN WEST
William Andrew, 66, Son Of Pioneers
Word has been received here of the death Sunday of William Andrew, 62, which occurred suddenly in his home at Van Nuys, Cal. A former member of Centennial Methodist Episcopal church, Mr, Andrew made his home in Rockford until 1913, when he went to Van Nuys. He was formerly in the hardware business with Frank Kenny in the 100 block on South Main street.
Born Feb. 13, 1883, in Guilford township, son of William and Mary Andrew, he was married Oct. 18, 1913 to the former Minnie Woodburn. His grandparents were among the first Scotch settlers in this vicinity.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are a brother, Archie G. Andrew, Rockford; three cousins, Mrs. John Ralston, Mrs. E. B. Reid and Miss Elizabeth Sillars, all of Rockford; three nieces and two nephews, Mrs. William Wall, Portia Andrew, Harold Andrew and Kenneth E. and Wyllis L. Andrew, both exservicemen, all of Rockford, and Mrs. Robert Doucette, Madison, Wis. His parents and a brother, David Andrew, former Rockford bailiff, died previously.
