US Representative from Illinois. He engaged in the publishing, printing business and also in the coal business and was a member of the city council of Chicago, 1901 to 1909. He was a member of the Illinois State Commerce Commission 1921 to 1929, serving as chairman in 1928 and 1929. He was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-third Congress and served March 4, 1933 to January 3, 1935.
