Inventor. He was widely regarded as the man who revolutionized the pinball machine industry and elevate the game into a sophisticated entertainment form. In 1947, his Kordek Triple Action Genco, was the first pinball machine to incorporate only two flippers at the bottom of the playfield. His more powerful flippers were facilitated by the addition of a DC power supply and have been a standard pinball game feature ever since. Kordek's other invented features included the first drop targets (1962), multi-ball play modes (1963), zipper-flippers (1968), add-a-ball (1973) and many more. During his six decades in the coin machine industry he also designed more than 100 pinball games for the Genco, Williams and Bally Pinball Companies. In pinball circles, he became a legend, going well into his nineties he was a popular figure at National and International pinball events, to include the annual Pinball Expo in Chicago, Illinois. He died of natural causes at the age of 100 and is a inducted member of the National Pinball Museum. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
