| Birth: | Dec. 25, 1944 | | Death: | Apr. 4, 1995 | Popular and innovative comic actor and writer. Famed for his extrovert characters and equally crazy outbursts, he was popular both on BBC Radio and television. He was fired from his BBC Radio 1 slot for telling a joke about the Minister of Transport's wife's driving test making the comment that the driving instructor may have been bribed. It was his television work that made him a star with shows such as "The Kenny Everett Video Show" and "The Kenny Everett Video Cassette." His character creations included "General Norm Bomthebastards," "Brother Lee Love" and "Cupid Stunt." Although a Tory he was also famed for his jokes aimed at the then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Openly gay, Kenny Everett died from AIDs in April 1995. (bio by: Kieran Smith)
