| Birth: | Apr. 13, 1756 Paris, France | | Death: | Aug., 1830 Saint-Leu-la-Foret, France | French Royalty. Louis Henri Joseph de Bourbon, only son of Louis Joseph de Bourbon, Prince of Condé, and his wife Charlotte de Rohan, was born at the Hôtel de Condé in Paris. He initially received the title of Duke of Bourbon. In 1770, at the age of fourteen, Louis Henri married Louise Marie Thérèse Bathilde d'Orléans. His marriage to the daughter of Louis Philippe I, Duke of Orléans, and his wife Louise Henriette de Bourbon was not a happy one. He engaged in adulterous behavior. The marriage produced only one child, a son, in 1772. The Duke of Bourbon and his wife Bathilde separated after 1778. However, his affair with opera singer Marguerite Michelot did produce two daughters. During the French Revolution, he went into exile in England with his father and son. However, in 1804, his son Louis Antoine, Duke of Enghien, was abducted in Germany on the orders of Napoleon. He was executed on trumped up charges. After Napoleon's defeat in 1814, Louis Henri and his father returned to France and were able to recover their fortunes. His father died in 1818, at which time the Duke of Bourbon assumed the title of Prince of Condé. He died under suspicious circumstances in August of 1830 at the Château de Saint-Leu. A former mistress and prostitute had been paid to use her influence on Louis Henri to set up a will. He was then found hanging in his bedroom. He was the last of the line of Bourbon-Condé. Louis Henri II, the last Prince of Condé, was interred at the Basilica of Saint Denis.
